Benefiting Rory Larson, a Trisomy 18 Warrior
Thank you to all our registered participants for the tournament!
We were truly blown away by the many people and business sponsors who joined us in this effort. Together, our amazing community raised $11,190 for Rory and her family.
Rory’s Story: Rory was born on November 7, 2022, with Trisomy 18, which is a rare chromosomal condition that results in many birth defects, such as spina bifida and other things. Many babies with this combination survive only days, sometimes weeks and while Trisomy 18 has a 95% fatality rate, Rory is a miracle and continues to defy the odds.
Every day is a gift, and her journey is nothing short of divine. Caring for Rory requires 24-hour medical attention, specialized equipment, and constant transport needs, all while her mom, Hannah, remains home full-time to care for Rory and her big brother, Hunter. The emotional and financial weight is immense. Her family has never asked for help, but they have always carried this responsibility with faith—believing that love, community, and purpose can rise above even the hardest diagnoses.
Rory’s grandmother, Mary, had just spent the evening praying for a way to help the family get a wheelchair-accessible van. Transporting Rory and her equipment in a small vehicle has become increasingly difficult—but resources to solve that problem were out of reach. The next day, she received a call: “Would your family be open to receiving the benefits from a charity fishing tournament?” She wept. Her prayer was already being answered.
