Join us for our June meeting as we welcome Captain Matt Santiago of Captain Matt Santiago Sport Fishing for a deep dive into one of the most exciting fisheries on Florida’s Gulf Coast: cobia and tripletail. Capt. Matt will share proven strategies for locating and targeting these highly sought-after species, including seasonal movement patterns, sight-fishing techniques, bait selection, structure, tides, and gear setups that consistently produce results on Tampa Bay waters.
Recently, Capt. Matt was recognized by The International Game Fish Association as the first captain from Tampa to be named an official IGFA Captain, a major honor within the sportfishing community. Over the years, he has also won numerous fishing tournaments and built a reputation as one of the Tampa Bay area’s most accomplished and respected captains.
A Tampa native with more than 30 years of fishing experience, Capt. Matt spends nearly 300 days a year on the water guiding anglers throughout Tampa Bay. His experience ranges from inshore sight-fishing to offshore big game fishing, and his passion for teaching anglers of all skill levels has made him a favorite among both locals and visiting fishermen.
In addition to his Tampa Bay operation, Capt. Matt also operates DreamWork Sportfishing in Costa Rica, giving anglers the opportunity to experience world-class offshore fishing for species such as marlin, sailfish, tuna, roosterfish, and mahi in some of the most productive waters in the world.
